011 | Golf R Pure White vs Golf R White Silver | COMPARISON

Hi it’s Dave at Stable Vehicle Contracts,
I hope you’re doing ok. One of the many questions we’ve been getting
recently, after I’ve been raving on about White Silver being the best thing since sliced
bread as a new colour, is what is the difference between White Silver and Pure White?
Do they look much different? So we thought the best way to answer this
question is to do a video on it. So we’ve got a White Silver Golf R and a Pure
White Golf R Estate. So we’re gonna have a little look round both
the cars so you can get an idea how they look compared to each other, what they look like
on their own. But we’re gonna do it a little bit different,
we’re gonna split it into two seperate parts, one is real world, so these cars haven’t been
cleaned, well when was the last time you cleaned yours Phil?
Phil: urm two months Dave: that’s a disgrace, so that’s not been
cleaned for two months, that’s not been cleaned for about a week or so but it has been up
and down the motorway so it is pretty dirty. But two months is a joke, what’s your house
like? You can definitely see behind me there is
quite a big difference between the pure white and the white silver.
The white silver, as I keep going on about it is just something completely different
to anything that’s out there really, so for me it’s the best colour in the VW range by
a long, long way but pure white is still vary popular so should we have a little walk round
and look at them in a bit more detail? Going slightly off subject on the colour,
me and Phil were talking yesterday about the Golf R, when we picked this one up.
Normally Golf Rs they’re known as a bit of a sleeper car because it doesn’t look like
anything extra ordinary like a Focus RS or a Civic Type R, they are very much in your
face, a bit of a boy-racer, hot hatch type vehicle.
Where as the Golf R isn’t, but then we were looking at this and actually it is quite a
bit more in your face, I think what we pinned it down to is the alloys so Phil’s estate
Golf R has got the standard 18″ Cadiz alloys on it and this car has got the 19″ Pretoria
alloys which are about a £1,000 or £900 upgrade and they do make it look a lot more
in your face, I think is probably the best way to describe it.
It’s only something as subtle as an alloy wheel change that’s done that, but it’s mad,
we think anyway, what do you guys think? Let us know in the comments section.
Does it take away that sleeper effect when you upgrade the wheels like this? We definitely
think it does, what do you think? So you’ve had a look round the cars in their
dirty state, so now we’re gonna get them cleaned and see how they compare when they’re fresh
out the valet bay. Let’s go get them cleaned.
So both cars have just come back from the valet and they are looking fresh.
Phil has just realised that his Cadiz alloys aren’t dark Cadiz alloys, they are just normal
Cadiz alloys. What do you reckon then, prefer them with all the brake dust on them or?
Phil: I’m surprised how good it looks to be honest, I’d forgotten what it looked like.
Are you gonna keep your car cleaner now? Phil: Yes…
Because you’re shamed into it. So what you can really see, hopefully on the
camera hear is there is a massive, massive difference between the White Silver and the
Pure White so quite a few of you guys have said in the comments that you couldn’t really
tell the difference between Pure White and White Silver.
When you look at it now like we are in the flesh, certainly after it’s been cleaned there
is a huge amount of difference. The White Silver, hopefully you can pick it
up on the camera, it’s almost like a grey, blue, white, silver… it’s a really weird
colour and I really, really like it and I prefer it to the Pure White, sorry Phil, I’ve
gotta say it. What do you think? Let us know which colour
you prefer, the White Silver or the Pure White. Let us know in the comments section below.
So let’s have a little walk around the cars again, now they’ve been cleaned and hopefully
you can see the difference between the two cars.
So you’ve seen the cars, we’ve given you a nice comparison and hopefully you’ve been
able to pick up the difference between the White Silver and the Pure White Golf Rs.
If you have, what you need to do now is tell us by commenting down below, do you prefer
the White Silver or the Pure White, let us know.
So thanks for watching, hope you’ve enjoyed this video, if you have don’t forget to like,
share and subscribe if you don’t already, see you again soon.

  1. That white silver is just epic. Me want!! Love how close up it looks white but goes silver as you step back. Much prefer the white silver

  2. Hi there, John from Australia.
Any chance to see a Wolfsburg black pearl Golf R 7.5? I haven’t seen any as yet in Australia. Hoping to make a decision to buy one once I see it in the flesh.
Cheers guys (good video on the last comparison on the white silver vs white )

  3. I'd prefer White Silver, but I was doing the school run this morning, and a middle aged lady passed me in a pure white Golf R and I wouldn't kick either off my drive!! That's the car, not the middle aged lady!! Lol.

  4. White silver is a bit like Seat Leon's dynamic grey. Which you now can't option on a Seat, probably because VW don't want Seat stealing their new golf sales.

  5. I'm curious to know whether this is VW's version of Audi's Suzuka Gray? They are similar at a glance. It would be interesting to see them side by side.

  6. White Silver….Mine arrives in 3 weeks..Fully loaded with 19” Spielberg’s…Still don’t know if I should change the door mirror uppers to Gloss Black 😬

  7. White Silver colour best but I also prefer the 18 inch Cadiz alloys ( clean) nicer save yourself £900 for a panoramic roof

  8. Just ordered pure white one. The standard wheels give best economy, traction on the road, lower ved, cheaper tyres, best grip in bad weather, and….the manufacturer made the car optimisation for best overall, so unless you understand it is only the seduction to spend more money, most people upgrade because they are convinced by others that the wheels are significantly better……mmm spend the cash elsewhere but that's only my opinion. Phil

  9. Saw a Golf R recently in Nardo Grey. with gloss black and the akrapovic exhaust. beast. I think Id have that colour instead followed by the Lapiz blue in second.

  10. My wife has the white silver on her new UP TSI it's lovely. I'm taking delivery of a Golf R in pure white on Friday… Prefer the white silver but it's a £650 option on the R as it was on the UP….Pisses me off that metallic paint is always an extra cost option when most cars on the road are metallic finishes… So the flat colours should be a more costly option as its much more of a rarity.

  11. A White Silver VW is in front of my window now. When the car is lit in the right way, it looks shiny white and nice. Otherwise, it turns to a dull bluish-grey colour that is not extremely appealing to me, like at the end of this video. While the (cleaned) Pure White looks always white, with every kind of light: probably still the right choice if one likes white cars.

  12. Just about to change my red gti was going midnight blue but now seeing the white silver in the showroom and on the video now it’s 100% white silver and the black alloys ……

  13. Imagine how much cheaper and easier it is to repair stone chips/scratches on pure white rather than metallic paint…

  14. White Silver Metallic FTW! Too bad this color is only on the Jetta and GTIs here in the states. Big fan of Nardo or any of the crazy Canadian color options like orange or any of those purple!

  15. Metallic paint like the white silver is always better for bringing out the design lines, but I find the pure white contrasts that bit better with the black of the front grill and lights, so it’s pure white for me

  16. Geez. In the US, just about every single car on the road is white now. The white silver is nicer than the pure white but how about some real colors for a change? VW is so conservative with colors even in their sportscar range.

  17. I’ve always liked white and silver cars so when on the look for a Mk7.5 GTi PP I came across one in this new “white silver” colour, online it looked shite in the pictures but on viewing in person……. wow it’s soooo nice. I pick it up next week!

  18. Is the white/silver, metallic Dave?? I love it too. Pure white is too bland! I once sold cars for Alan Myerscough at Ulverston and we got a pure white golf TDi on the pitch (one careful elderly owner) low mileage, immaculate. It stayed there late Feb until the end of June, it couldn't get arrested! I could have sold it over and over if it had been in black. I eventually sold it to a mate and knocked several 100 quid off it, just to move it. I hated going around the pitch every Monday morning and reducing the price of cars, but you have to. Take care, great vids btw!

  19. VW colors are awful. Pure white looks yellow compared to other white cars, especially in the snow. My gf's Range Rover is bright white compared to my neighbors Pure White GTI. White Silver looks blue. Deep Black Pearl looks dirty in certain light because of the flake. Tornado Red looks somewhat orange compared to other reds. Lapiz Blue is way too dark compared to cool blues like World Rally Blue. Urano Grey is alright but reminds me of primer or a cheesy wrap. Their gunmetal color is awful too but that's to be expected because gunmetal is disgusting and picks up a lot of yellow reflections. Wish they'd make a true white or jet black.

  20. 1:15

Yup, I can see the difference between white & the while silver.

Now, I cant tell the difference between the white-silver and regular silver. For example the silver vans behind you; there are almost the same as this white-silver VW
