GOLD and SILVER extraction from ceramic CPUs and silver contacts – recovery & refining


warning this video is intended for
demonstration purposes only trying to duplicate the shown procedures may
result in serious injury or even death recovery and refining of gold and silver
from 10 kg ceramic CPUs and 400 grams silver contact points. In the first stage the CPUs are washed in a molten lead bath to which I’ve added silver
contact points from electrical breakers The benefit is two-fold the silver is
refined while serving as collector metal for the gold in the CPUs when the temperature of the bath gets to
about 700 degrees Celsius the CPUs are stirred well for one minute to ensure all
of them are “wetted” by the melted lead After that the temperature is raised to
about 800 degrees Celsius and the “washed” ceramics, floating on the surface of the
bath, are carefully skimmed off. then another portion of CPUs is added
and the process is repeated until all processors go through the bath. It took
about 30 minutes to wash all CPUs. After that the stainless steel pan is removed
from the fire and the lead is allowed to cool. After removing most of the slag, the
lead cake was placed in a new stainless steel pan for cupelling. DORE after cupellation. From this point the process is the same as the refining of inquarted gold. 1st digestion in nitric acid 2nd After washing off all silver
nitrate with distilled water, the gold residue is dissolved in aqua regia. 3rd After digestion, the solution is deNOx-ed using sulphamic acid 4th Dilution with distilled water. 5th Filtration 6th Precipitation with SMB. This time I
changed the procedure a bit and was impressed with the results. Instead of
adding SMB to gold chloride solution, I dissolved SMB in hot water adding the
gold solution to it. While heating more SMB solution is added At some point the solution started
boiling and became clear. The gold resembled the sponge I’ve got after
precipitation with oxalic acid. The stannous chloride test was negative
for gold so i decanted the barren liquid and moved the sponge to a smaller
beaker for the washings. first: boiling in concentrated
hydrochloric acid boiling in distilled water Let’s see how it melts! Looks good! Let’s melt the rest of it! 75.3 grams of pure gold from ten kilograms ceramic CPUs! Not bad for six hours work in total! Wait!
We are not done yet! Remember the silver nitrate solution
from the parting step? Look what happened when I added concentrated sodium formate
solution to it five minutes later with the heat on fifteen minutes later With the solution boiling I kept adding
sodium formate in small increments waiting for the vigorous reaction to
cease between each addition. After hour and a half into the process,
the solution became clear indicating that all silver has precipitated. the barren liquid is decanted and the
silver sponge is rinsed with boiling distilled water until the pH of the

  7. 👍Интиресно замутил😀вот бы глянуть что в шлаке,на железе осталось.800 градусов маловато думаю,в тигле на горне это бы плавить,щолочи для флюса.Азотки много ушло наверно что бы растворить свинец😀да и всё в его солях потом было?Бывает с рудами полиметаллическими мутю,солей потом его при остывании кучи,очень ядовитая хрень.Интиресный метод,используется для бедной эликтроники,только там медь как купилирующий метал из самой эликтроники и эликтролизом разделяют медь с палладием в начале,что осталось на дне уже царём.Шикарный выход👍

    i have done this process just with litharge but i didn't get any conclusion,but when i add some lead it went OK.

  14. Процессы альмагальмирования стары как мир. Меня поражает, что люди колотящие пяткой в грудь на химфорумах здесь делают восторженные и восхищенные лица. Типа не знали!
    Или плохо книги читали?
    Еще больше поражает что люди говорят на процессы альмагальмирования, что это процесс купелирования. Ну это явный бред и незнание профессии.
    Тот же принцип применим для олова, тот же принцип применим и для ртути (только плавить не нужно).
    Температуры достаточно, даже более чем. Процесс ведется при пониженных температурах, как только основной металл перешел в расплавленое состояние. Это порядка 400-500 град.
    Вам господа нужно внимательнее читать книги. Этот процесс описан во многих учебниках.
