Golden Princess Cruise Ship Tour

Golden Princess Cruise Ship Tour

Hey cruisers, it’s Sheri with Cruise Tips
TV. Welcome to our deck-by-deck video tour of the Golden Princess.
The Bernini dining room is one of three main dining rooms on the ship, and on our sailing
was used for anytime dining between about 5:30 and 10pm. You’ll notice there are a
variety of table sizes to accommodate everyone from couples to large groups.
The internet café and library offers plenty of space to plug in or grab some reading material
while on your cruise. There are more than enough workstations with modern, large monitors
and even better, an ocean view. The lobby bar is bustling most nights, and
serves as a great place for anytime diners to enjoy a cocktail in the piazza while waiting
for a table in the Bernini dining room. By day, you can enjoy your coffee and pastries
from the adjacent international café here. The vines shop is a classy new addition the
piazza where you can pick up some gourmet gifts and treats.
Ah, the Piazza, the Golden’s stunning atrium is a bright and beautiful hub for many of
the ships activities. The Vines bar is one of my favorite stops
for a wine flight and tapas. Decorated in dark tones with a wine country feel, this
is a great place to sip from a respectable slection of wines. Oh, and did I mention,
they also serve sushi? Located in the heart of the piazza, the International
Café is the spot to grab your morning coffee, espresso drink or tea. You can choose from
a wide variety of pastries, or a hot breakfast sandwich to accompany your coffee. For the
remainder of the day, the Café offers a variety of savory snacks, desserts and even hot soups
for a meal or snack. Last but certainly not least on Deck 5 is
the Fine Arts Gallery. The Canaletto Dining room on Deck 6 is similar
in style to Bernini and Donatello. You’ll see it set for one of a few afternoon wine
tasting events, offered for a nominal fee onboard.
The Donatello dining room is also located on Deck
6. On our sailing, this dining room was also used for Afternoon Tea, where white gloved
servers spoil you with scones and cream, and a selection of desserts and sandwiches.
Crown Grill, Golden’s signature steakhouse offers a combination of booth and table seating.
You’ll want to make your reservations early for this popular spot.
The Video Arcade is quite possibly the smallest we’ve seen on the high seas. With just a
few games. But hey, you’re probably not going on a cruise for the video games, right?
Just outside the Crown Grill, you’ll find the beautiful Shore Excursions Desk. There’s
a screen where you can view sold out tours, and a friendly staff to help you make the
most of your port experience. Speaking of friendly staff, here’s a look
at the Passenger Services Desk. The Cigar bar is the ships smoking bar. This
is a great place to enjoy a cigar, perhaps a whiskey, and a sporting event on one of
the many TV’s. Positioned at the front of the ship, The Princess
Theatre is the largest of three main entertainment venues onboard. You’ll gather here for most
of the production shows. On our sailing, there were also movies and special lectures held
here. Located aft, The Vista show lounge hosts production
and comedy entertainment by night and a variety of functions by day. From Zumba to Bingo,
the stage here gets a lot of use. Every seat in the house offers a great view and the lounge
has it’s own well stocked bar. Sabatini’s is the ship’s Italian style
trattoria. For a nominal fee, you can enjoy a filling multicourse meal here in a relaxing
atmosphere. The vibe here is relaxed and leisurely, so be sure to set aside a few hours for your
dining experience… and Save a little room for the Espresso crème brulee. Just don’t
forget to make a reservation early…this is a popular spot.
Next to Sabatini’s and the photo gallery, The Wheelhouse bar is an elegantly appointed
place to meet with friends over a few drinks. With tons of posh furniture and a nautical
theme, this is the place to be for happy hour. The Explorer’s lounge is another of the
ships entertainment venues. With an open design, a dance floor, and a large bar, this Egyptian
themed spot hosts everything from trivia to art auctions, and even ballroom dance and
tap classes. Here’s a look at the cozy promenade bar
and louge, located parallel to the shops on the promenade deck.
Just aft of the Princess Theater is the Grand Casino. Along with coinless slot machines,
the casino offers a full selection of table games such as roulette, blackjack and Texas
Hold ‘Em poker. Located aft, with a dramatic wake view the
Terrace pool is a great place to take a dip. The Outrigger Bar, located on the horizon
terrace doubles as a Margarita Bar, with creative concoctions like the chocolate and chili,
the sweet and smokey and Melon berry margarita’s. This is a terrific place to sip a cocktail. The Newly Renovated Horizon Court feels bright
clean and open. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks are served here with attentive service. Adjacent to the Calypso Pool, you’ll find
the friendly staff at the Calypso Bar. The Calypso Pool’s retractable glass dome
creates a comfortable, balmy place to swim or soak in it’s heated, freshwater pool
or hot tubs. Near the pool, you’ll find Sundaes, the
ships soft serve ice cream spot. There are even shakes and malts on the menu. Neptune’s Reef Pool is also heated, with
two adjacent hot tubs. Decorated with mosaics and sculptures, this is a great place to grab
a deck chair (or a hot tub) for Movies Under the Stars on the 300 square foot, outdoor
big screen. Near Neptune’s Reef and pool, you’ll find
the outdoor pizzeria, the Mermaids Tail, and of course, the Trident Grill- where you can
grab grilled burgers, hot dogs, and delicious French fries to enjoy poolside. Moving to the top of the ship, you’ll discover
Heart’s and Minds, the ships wedding chapel, which can also double as a meeting room. The Trade Winds Bar sits above Neptune’s
reef pools, with ample seating and a direct view of Movies under the stars. Here’s a look at the Youth and teen facilities
on the ship. The Lotus Spa provides a variety of pampering.
Some of the services offered in the spa include Facials, Traditional and Hot stone massages,
Ionithermie Cellulite Reduction, Wraps and even Acupuncture.
The Beauty salon offers nail treatments, hair styling, hair colour, and barber services.
With an entrance off the Lotus Spa, the Sanctuary pool and hot tubs provide a quiet area to
extend your relaxation. (pause between below)
The fitness center offers a diverse selection of well maintained nautilus equipment, free
weights and cardio machines with a view. There’s also a group fitness room, and spin machines. Situated under Skywalkers, you’ll find two
large hot tubs and the Oasis Bar, with a sweeping aft view. On our sailing, this bar always
seemed to be closed. You’ll also find the Princess Deck Chess Set in the Oasis area. Princess Links, the ships putting green needs
a makeover, in our opinion On Deck 16, you’ll also find a splash pool
for tots. Welcome to the Sanctuary, Golden Princess’
adults only spa inspired area. You can purchase access to this area where you’ll find cabanas
for massages, extra cozy lounge chairs, and refreshing drinks and snacks. On Alaska cruises,
you’ll be treated to blankets and binoculars, as well as customized menu items. Be sure to take the escalator up to Skywalkers
Nightclub on Deck 17. If you’re not interested in enjoying the late night activities here,
check out the amazing views by day with its funky outer space décor and comfortable seating.
At night, the disco comes alive and the bartenders stay busy. Interested in shooting hoops with a view,
check out the sports court. Thank you so much for watching! Until next
time we’ll see you on the high seas. Pssst, don’t forget to subscribe. Click

  1. I loved the Golden Princess. My only complaint is we purchased "Coke refill cups", that allowed us to get as many refills as we wanted. Only one problem……..you have to ask a bartender or dining staff to refill your Coke, which would usually take 15 to 20 minutes before they returned with your beverage. The cup held maybe 8 ounces? When I would be eating in the dining room, and ask a dining staff member to fill my Coke cup, I would usually be done eating before the staff member returned with my beverage. I think this is done purposefully. If we had known, we would have bought our own drinks when we went into Port, and brought them back to our stateroom. Everything else was top notch. Not sure why they would have such a small thing as refilling your beverage to be such a hassle, especially when you are paying thousands for a cruise, and even pay extra for the Coke refill cup, lol. You would think they would have had refill stations, but evidently not.

  2. Wonderful video! My wife and I recently came across your videos and have pretty much watched them all. We cruise often, yet out of New Orleans; therefore our ships have been limited to Carnival and Norwegian. Would love to cruise Princess. Do you have a cruise line preference?

  3. todo está hermoso más megustari llenar los de turismo para expresar pohesia pohema y tener unos violinistas con música clásica

  4. I'm a Royal Caribbean man myself but wanted to know what this ship was like being that my parents where currently on it. It actually looks quite good. Reasonably modern with a lot of lounges, bars, theatres and pools. The video itself is well put together with steady footage and voice over.

  5. I've cruised on this ship from long beach to Hawaii on a two week cruise. it's extremely nice and huge but I was in my mid 20s at the time with my gf and it was like a floating retirement home… I wouldn't suggest it to younger people. the pizza bar. burger bar, 24hr room service and all you can eat buffet is amazing plus all the activities and the countless bars lol… it was fun until my ex got drunk, bloodied my lip and got herself arrested on board and almost got us disembarked in Mexico.

  6. I was on this cruise and its was the best.. Moirse if you are watching this I miss you a lot I'm Andrew remember 🙂 wish we see each other…

  7. I'll be boarding the Golden in about 6 months. Thank you for the fantastic video! I'll be showing to my travel companion, very well put together and easy to work out what is where.

  10. Great videos! We are looking at a cruise from Australia to New Zealand and see that The Golden Princess and NCL Jewel are on the route. (Would like to go on the new Ovation of the seas but it is round trip from Australia and we want to end in NZ). Since you have been on both Golden and Jewel, which would you suggest to go from Sydney to Aukland? Cheers!

  11. Well, you sold me. We haven't sailed with Princess in over 10 years, but the upgrades looked amazing and we were able to snag a mini-suite for only $600 on the Crown. Thanks!
