Golden Years- David Bowie

Golden years, gold whop whop whop Golden years, gold whop whop whop Golden years, gold whop whop whop Dont let me hear you say lifes taking you nowhere, angel Come get up my baby Look at that sky, lifes begun Nights are warm and the days are young Come get up my baby Theres my baby, lost thats all Once Im begging you save her little soul Golden years, gold whop whop whop Come get up my baby Last night they loved you opening doors and pulling some strings Angel! Come get up my baby In walked luck and you looked in time Never look back, walk tall, act fine Come get up my baby Ill stick with you baby for a thousand years Nothings gonna touch you in these golden years Gold! Golden years, gold whop whop whop Come get up my baby Some of these days, and it wont be long Gonna drive back down where you once belonged In the back of a dream car twenty foot long Dont cry my sweet, dont break my heart Doing all right, but you gotta get smart Wish upon, wish upon, day upon day, I believe oh lord I believe all the way Run for the shadows, run for the shadows, run for the shadows in these golden years Theres my baby, lost thats all Once Im begging you save her little soul Golden years, gold whop whop whop Dont let me hear you say lifes taking you nowhere, angel Come get up my baby Run for the shadows, run for the shadows Run for the shadows in these golden years Ill stick with you baby for a thousand years Nothings gonna touch you in these golden years, gold

  1. AMAZING video, thanks so much for putting together all of these pictures and clips to go with the music! LOVED IT!!!!!! WELL DONE!! *high five*

  2. yeah anyone that thinks this has anything to do with heath ledger is a moron. this song was hitting charts when future junkie boy was still an infant. if he was even born yet.

  3. It doesn't matter how you got here as long as you came, great music passes from one generation to the next via films etc,and now in this media mental world faster than ever.i saw Bowie at his best but his music is not specific for my generation or anybody else's music for that matter.

  4. Hey Phillyfan, a junkie can be hooked on any that's any controlled substance. From pills to powder, liquid includes all. Don't make ignorant statements because that one you made is up there.

  5. What's fascinating to me about this album is that bowie made it during an incredibly dark period in his life. He admits he doesn't even remember making it cause this was around the time he started locking himself in a dark room doing cocaine and chain smoking non stop. He would hallucinate, stay  up for days at a time and reportedly he would eat nothing but peppers and milk and he was obsessed with Hitler and the occult at the time, and yet he made this incredible classic record even though he was clearly out of his mind.

  7. Love this song so much. From his coke addled Nazi years. Shit, this can be forgiven on the basis of this perfect choon. I was introduced to this by a crappy stephen king TV series of the same. By the end I was tuning in just for theme tune which was this. Has a timeless quality that transcends genre and obviously on that basis transcends output of that time.

  8. RIP Thank you for the style, the innovation, the inspiration, the words, the videos, the stories, the art, the spirit, the influence, and for simply being. We already miss you. Been feeling the feels since we heard the news. I can't think of just one favorite song or era. <3

  9. RIP, David. You will be missed. Loved your music. It seems all the great musical artists I grew up with are passing away 🙁
A sad reminder of how much time has passed since all this great music first came out. I loved the video that was used for this song. Thank you for posting, midevilfreako.

  10. no end to the amount of catchy incredible tracks the duke wrote,it’s nuts if you add them up…. so much consistent output…fuck what a loss

  11. Hard to fathom that level and dimension of creative diversity and innovation coming from ONE singular artist, the inimitable David Bowie…1947-2016  R.I.P.

  12. The day David died I said that his videos will be disappearing off of Youtube for "copyright" crap. That is happening. We can thank the evil legal profession.

  13. He was a man who wasn't afraid to be himself, no matter what critics said. For that, I always loved his music and him. Peace, Starman. ✏

  14. I think this is the favourite song of David Bowie's that I like to play and it is a shame that he died when he did.

  15. I still love this vid you made i use to play this to my baby girl she love this herself now thank you for sharing this all these years later to us to enjoy 🙂 xx

  16. It is a shame he died anyway this song is the Bowie I listen to the most (Followed by Fashion) I think this song would be good to dance to.

  17. Getting familiar with the songs from the last Full year my Mom was Alive!!! She died in 1977….but the pain is still there!! I was only 6 years old.
    REST IN PEACE MOM!!
    REST IN PEACE DAVID BOWIE!!

  18. Brilliant! Love Bowie and his music! Love, always, my everlasting friend in music. Supreme talent, doing exactly what you were suppose to do on Earth. Thank You for YOU. Kiddos, this is how it's done, He was what a picture of,"cool" looks-like, just so you know!
