Insects galore on the menu at MSU Bug Buffet

THE MENU ITEMS THIS MORNING AT THE CAFETERIA IN MONTANA STATE’S STRAND UNION WEREN’T YOUR AVERAGE GRUB…. SO TO SPEAK. THE UNIVERSITY HOSTED ITS 30TH ANNUAL BUG BUFFET AS A PART OF ITS ONE HUNDRED 25TH YEAR CELEBRATION. VISITORSTRIED OUTMENU ITEMS LIKE CRICKET COOKIES, LOCUST KABOBS, AND ANT CUISINES. ORGANIZERS SAY THAT INSECT FEASTS LIKE THESE ARE COMMON IN MANY DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD.. I PERSONALLY PREFER BEING ABLE TO SEE THE BUGS, I WANT PEOPLE TO UNDERSTAND WHAT A GRASSHOPPER TASTE LIKE OR THE TARATNULA SPIDER WE’LL HAVE TOMORROW TASTE LIKE. I DON’T WANT TO CONCEAL IT I WANT THEM TO BE KIND OF IN YOUR FACE TASTE IS PRETTY SIMILAR IT’S JUST THAT THERE’S A CRUNCH EFFECT IN THERE AND IT’S A LITTLE HARD TO GET OVER THAT CRUNCH BUT FOR THE MOST PART IT TASTES ABOUT THE SAME. THE PRACTICE OF EATING BUGS COULD SOLVE WORLD-WIDEFOOD SHORTAGESIN THE FUTURE.
