MBMMLLC.com: Clean copper from scrap transformer windings with a hammer mill

This is a video for Tom. Tom has sent us some of these transformer winding’s. They still have all this paper and junk on them and the copper is varnished. has varnish on it and he wants us to run these down our hammer mill. to see if we can bust all that paper off and break these thing up. into smaller pieces so he can get higher prices for his copper wire out of these things We are going to run these whole just like this through a hammer mill with a 3/8ths screen and we will show you what comes out the bottom. Okay Tom, here are your whole transformer winding’s. After they have gone through the hammer mill with a 3/8ths screen. and it knocked all the varnish and crap off them. it looks really nice, nice clean copper A little bit of paper and stuff left over but there’s a product you can work with. Thanks for watching and if any one else they have something they want run through the hammer mill let me know through a email or a call all of which are in the description below, thanks.

  1. Hi Tyler-

I was worried about the wires wrapping around the shaft too, but since running I have never had a problem with it.  I have a customer who is running these transformer windings on a production scale and he says it is working great.  He has run thousands of pounds with no issues.  Thanks for the question.
