The American Dream: Stories of Coming to America | LIBERTY COPPER Collection

My grandparents are immigrants, they both came to America, with the hope they could have a better life for us. I was born in Greece and my parents left when I was 5. My family came to the States from Korea when I was 3. My dad was obviously first generation born here. My great-grandparents that struggled on that boat to come here. Once he saw that Statue, that he was going to build a new life for himself, and, you know, the rest of our family. We came to the US looking for a better life. And we do have a better life. I’m really grateful that I was able to grow up here, and so I feel like the Statue of Liberty symbolizes, how anyone can come here and start a life, and be who I guess who they want to become. That my whole life is just basically the sum of what they were able to do.
